Post Stitch Pillow

Finished up my latest project yesterday.  It's worked in post stitches and has scallops also with a big button in the middle.  Both sides are alike.  It was a very quick and easy project.  The color possibilities are endless !!

Washing the combine.......

The combine got it's second bath of the year on Tuesday.  Funny, the temperature was just about 10 degrees warmer now than it was in January when it was washed last !!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Antique Store Finds

Saturday we took a little road trip to Pennsylvania and checked out a couple antique shops a long the way.  Came across this set of RRP Roseville pottery.  Couldn't pass that up !!! Just had to make a  crock cover for the little bowl.  It is a modified pattern from the book Jug Covers that I like to use to make covers for some of my crocks and baskets.

The little bowl and pitcher went on a shelf but the big pitcher went in the fridge for ice tea.  Keeps it nice and cold !!! 

Quilt Look Projects

First project this week, well it took longer than a week with only having time to work on it here and there but got it finished this week..... is this wall hanging.  Saw the idea in a Country Sampler magazine to hang a quilt or a wall hanging in the fire place.  Since ours was just covered in wallpaper I thought this might dress it up a little.  Back in the mid 80's I had stenciled a few blocks but never did anything with them thinking that one day I would use them for something then I remembered them when I got the idea for this project.  The one even has 1985 stenciled on it !!!  So I stenciled up a few more and put this together.  It went together pretty quick.  It's not quilted, just tied between the squares. 

Then this doily also was completed this week.  The pattern isn't perfected yet but I'm loving it so far.  It was pretty easy even if it might not look like it.  It's 15 1/2" square and reminds me of a mini quilt. 

A Fun Day with Addie

Things have been busy this summer and Addie hasn't gotten to spend a day here in a while with us so we loaded up her Gator and bike and brought her here for the day.  First we were out gathering dried seeds to keep for next year but the bright blooms were more to her liking.

Next she jumped in her Gator to go to the house and get some seeds to plant in her little garden patch.

She was very careful putting one sunflower seed in each little hole. 

Then it was back to the house to get some scissors and jars to make some flower arrangements.

After lunch at CiCi's we played Hungry Hungry Hippos, or as Addie calls it, Hippo Slap !!

When Paw Paw had to leave to take a load of fertilizer she decided to go out and ride her bike some on her course in the barnyard.

But it was very hot out by that time so an ice cream cone on the couch was a much better choice.

After ice cream she painted a sign for in her garden.

Then took it out and tried to pound it into the hard ground.

She got it to stay there !!!

Then we sat on the swing a little bit and before we knew it it was time to go home. 

What a nice day we had !!!  We need to do it again soon before school starts which will be here before we know it !!
