Country Gardens Pillow

A while back I came up with this pillow pattern....

I entered it in the Maryland State Fair and it did very well!!

I entered it in the Great Frederick Fair and it did very well!!

I entered it in the CGOA design competition and it did very well there, too!!

So early this year when I saw an ad for the Mary Maxim crochet contest I submitted the Country Gardens pattern

Much to my surprise it won first place in the accessories division!!!

Just last week their catalog came and I found it in there for sale as a kit in many different color choices to make it in!!

That was one winning pattern!!

Flowers in a Row

A few years ago I picked up some embroidered towels at a local craft store.  I thought they would look cute with a crocheted edging for some Mother's Day gifts.

Then I found this cute Easter towel and thought the edging would look great for spring

The edging even won first place at the Maryland State fair and the Great Frederick Fair!!

So I submitted the design to Crochet World and they liked the design so they sent me the towels and threads to make it for them.

So here is the finished result for the magazine!!

And here is how it looks in the magazine....pardon my photography.....

I love the towels and colors they chose and the way they displayed them in the photos looks so good!!  As always they do a fantastic job with all the designs in this great publication.

Thank you again to everyone involved in working with me on this project.  It was a pleasure!!

Country Garden's Pillow

Last spring I entered a contest in the Mary Maxim craft catalog in the crochet accessories category.  I was very surprised a few months later when I got a call saying that it had won first place!!  Yesterday I got one of their catalogs in the mail and saw it for sale in the catalog as a kit in several color choices to make it in. http://www.marymaxim.com/country-gardens-pillows.html  Is the link to look it up online to see much better pictures of it than I have.  You can also click on the Mary Maxim link under Joyce's links on the right of this page.

Thank you Mary Maxim for choosing my pillow !! It is quite an honor!!

It's Beginning to look a lot like......

.....there's a lot of crocheting to be done!!  This runner worked with either the green trim or plain white would be great with a winter snowman display for the whole season, not just the holidays!!

And this tree isn't difficult at all.  The hardest part is waiting for the stiffener to dry!!  Both patterns are available on Ravelry and Etsy at the links above.  I hope you will give them a try!!
