"Spring" Snow?

This morning we woke up to a "Spring" Wonderland....

 

 

 

Those little pansies are probably wishing I had let them in the nice warm greenhouse !!!  This is the third time they have had snow on them !!

Spring Cleaning.....

Friday was a day for a little spring work to be done.

 

 

Not the closest picture but some manure was spread on our farm from my Uncle's farm that joins us.

 

 

Then I finally managed to get the rest of the mums broken off and cleaned out of the flower beds.

 

 

These mini daffodils were hiding down under the mums and leaves. 

 

 

On Saturday we went to the Flower and Garden Show at HCC for a little bit I wanted to see the lady's booth that buys my raw gourds every fall to see what she made with them.  Hard to believe this cute bunny was laying in the barn all last winter covered in mold and dirt!!  She is very talented !!! 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rushing Spring

 

Just couldn't resist planting some pansies today.

 

 

They really brighten things up even tho it's getting colder and windier as the day goes on. 

I put a bunch in pots and hanging baskets, too. 

 

 

Even brought the pansy theme inside with a doily.

If this doesn't make it snow nothing will !!!  Keep thinking about how last year when I planted them it was 70 degrees out on the same date as I planted this year !!  Won't be long till we are complaining about the heat again, tho I'm sure !!

 

 

 

 

First Day Hauling Fertilizer

 

It's that time of year again......

 

 

We both hauled fertilizer to Hamilton, VA, today.

 

 

Everyone wants their fertilizer work done before the big snow coming tomorrow......the rush is on !!!

 



Bedspread

It's been a while since my last post but there has been an awful lot going on.  I happened to think about this bedspread I made for my Mom over 20 years ago.

 

 

 

It fits a regular size bed and it took a year to make !!! 

 

 

It is made up of motifs that are joined as you go with the smaller motifs. It was a pretty simple pattern to follow but I can't remember now where I found it.  I have several vintage crochet pattern books with the same pattern in for a table cloth. It was made with size 5 thread but I don't remember which size hook was used.  One of these days I'll come across the pattern in a book and find out the exact size of it. I always write on the pattern what size hook was used and the finished size. Should have written the date it was made !! That was the largest project I've done to date !!!
