Nice day for crochet

It was so nice out yesterday I took my crochet out to the swing to enjoy the beautiful day.

It was so pretty it was hard to concentrate on crocheting!!

And of all things I was working on a Christmas project!!!

Finished!!

After the frustration of pulling out the edging and starting over it's finally finished.

It is a quick and easy pattern and I do like the edging on it.

It is a shawl or wrap but it could also be a table runner or a scarf by changing the pattern a little bit.

Crocheted Lamp Shade Cover

Back in the fall I made a few lampshade covers.

The one on the left is really the same pattern as the one on the right it just is over a wire frame so the light really shines thru.  They are stiffened with fabric stiffener and when dry placed over the XS lamp shades.  As you can see they are for the little window candle lights with the shade that clips over the candle bulb.  I submitted the patterns to Create & Decorate magazine....

...and they accepted this one !!  The July/August issue just hit the news stands today.  It looks really pretty the way they photographed it.  Thank you Create & Decorate for choosing my pattern!!

A Nice Surprise

I found a nice surprise on Saturday morning I went out the front door and found this in between the doors.

Our neighbor had asked a few weeks ago if she could paint the flower wagon when it was sitting out and I never thought anymore about it.  What a nice surprise to receive the painting!!!  Thank you Mary Garwood :)

Another busy week

Memorial Day was a busy one around here.  Planted 62 acres of soybeans.

It was a good thing that all those beans got planted then because on late on Tuesday afternoon we got this and now those fields are soaked!!

Of course getting an inch and 2 tenths of rain in half an hour washed out the crossing to get into the one field. Going to have to make another trip to get milling's to replace the ones that washed away. Thank goodness the pipe is cabled to a tree!!

Luckily I had cut some Peonies and brought in the house before the storm hit.  So pretty and they smell so good!!!

I finally managed to get this doily finished I have been working on trying to get the pattern right this week, too.  I like it displayed either way, square or diamond shape.

I also love the color combinations.  It's much prettier than it looks in the picture.  I just can't figure out what to call this one.  Naming them is the hardest part!!

The purple flowers are blooming.....

The barley is in head....

The wheat is starting to...

And Charlie is out there checking to see if the sweet corn seeds have started to sprout yet.....

It's a long time till it's going to be ready to eat!!!
