My first try at making a crocheted purse.

It is worked using Mosaic Crochet.

The pattern is worked in "I" and "V" stitch repeats using 3 colors of size 10 thread.

It was a pretty easy pattern to follow just making a large rectangle and then shaping it.  It took quite a while, tho since all those stitches are single crochet using a size 5 hook !!!  Plus a lot of setting it  aside to make a few other projects along the way before the holidays.....It also has a fabric lining with a magnet snap.

Also the "V" stitch is running threw the middle of the handle for a little decorative touch.

Ohio Vacation

We managed to get away for a few days in December. Made our way threw the great state of Ohio checking out some places we wanted to look up.

 

 

Our first night near Youngstown, OH we came across this really neat restaurant called Quaker Steak and Lube.  The place was very busy and the food was great.  Lots going on outside with fancy 4 wheelers and things on the sidewalk.  It was dark then so we took this picture the next morning. 

 

 

Then we went to Lehman's store in Kidron which was a very neat place inside and out.

 

 

 

Just down the street was a livestock and hay sale going on with lots of Amish buggies and wagons around.

 

 

 

All across the state was plenty of nice equipment to dream about....

 

 

 

 

And beautiful flat farmland with pretty farms all along the way.

 

 

We saw this one  huge pile of corn on the ground at an elevator in Kenton

 

 

On the way home we went to Longaberger and by their neat home offices.

 

 

Then on towards home by the neat wind turbines near Somerset.....

 

...and always kind of a favorite of mine, not so much Rick's, the Allegheny Mountain tunnel on the PA Turnpike.

 

 

 

Very nice little vacation and like all others it went way too fast !!! 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 



Hearts-A-Plenty Table Runner

Button Crafts

 

Recently I found some neat ideas to do with buttons.  You can't tell it too well but these little snowmen are made from buttons on this mantle scarf.

 

 

Also buttons make up the snowmen on this little pillow. Lots more neat ideas out there !!

 

 

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas....

 

Friday Addie came to spend the day and the night and was my big helper for the day to put up the Christmas tree.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

After lunch it was so nice out she took out a little time to play.

 

 

Then we came inside to make yarn dolls and ornaments for Addie's little Christmas tree.

Baby It's Cold Outside

 

Apparently Frosty's nose got a little cold yesterday morning.....

Done !!!!

 

We took the last 2 loads to the mill this morning.  Harvest is finally done !!!  Now time to work on all those new crochet projects floating around in my head......

 

 



Happy Turkey Day !!!

 

I made this turkey gourd the other day and stuck him in with my other fall things by the back door.  I think he fits right in !!  Happy Thanksgiving everyone !!! 

Craft Show

Had a great day at the Burkittsville Craft Show yesterday

 

 

 

Loaded up the pickup the day before.....there was barely room for me when I got done !!!!

Here are a few pictures of my table but later in the day. It was so busy I didn't have time to take any earlier.

 

 

 

 

 It was a very nice day and I appreciate everyone who came by my stand.  I hope everyone enjoys their purchases !!

Old Stuff...

 

During some remodeling of the old farm house of my parents they came across some pieces in one of the rooms that they gave to me.

 

 

I took the corner pieces and made a frame to put the old farm picture in that has the house in it these pieces came out of.

 

 

I took the brackets and made a shelf that I'd like to put under the photo of the farm but it's so heavy I don't know if our old plaster walls could take it !!  I can see it with the quilt hanging under it, tho !! 

 

 

Seeing Double....

 

Finally finished up a special order I've been working on.  I had entered this pattern in the fair and when I picked it up there was a phone number on the tag with an offer to buy it.  I did sell that one to them and then they ordered 2 more.  It took longer than usual being so busy with harvesting this fall but the stormy days last week gave me some time to really get some work done on them and now they are all finished !!!
