Light The Night

Barb gave me these neat solar jar lids for Christmas.  I had a couple of jars that I had etched in my sand blast cabinet so I put the lids on them.  They look very pretty day.....

.....and night !!!

Etsy Update

Just updated my Etsy site. Here are a few of the items I added. Not all of them are my original designs. Others are really great patterns from magazines and books I have made over the years and take to craft shows. You can check it out my Etsy link on this page.

I just finished this one and it has a runner to match.

Pretty Kitties Doily pattern is from Annie's Favorite Crochet Magazine, June 2005 Volume 28, No 3. It was very easy and quick to make.

This one called Royal Garden Doily was designed by Carol Alexander. The pattern is in the Summer 2001 edition of Old Time Crochet.

This is one of mine.  I just crocheted a pansy border around a purchased cotton center using tatting thread.

It's Finished !!!

Finished up the runner today and got it stretched and starched.  It still looks much prettier in person than the pictures. Finished measurements are 36 3/4" x 13 3/4".  Now on to the next project !!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone !!  The basket with the eggs and the bunny candy dish are my newest designs for this spring.  They were easy to make, too if you don't mind stiffening all the pieces over forms, waiting for them to dry then gluing it all together.  Turned out pretty cute, tho.  There are  a
few things on them that need adjusting but for the most part I'm pleased.

The Easter Egg doily is another design from my favorite Holiday crochet book called Holiday Doilies by Emma L. Willey.  It was worked in size 10 thread with a size 5 hook and measure 13".

Of course I had to have some Easter Bunny Gourds thrown in, too.

The tulips are blooming just in time for Easter this year.....so are the dandelions !!!

Happy Easter to all :)

Exciting New Project

Recently I submitted this table runner pattern to the Coats and Clark yarn company and they made me an offer to buy the pattern only they wanted it in different colors so today I got a nice package in the mail from them.....

....all the crochet thread I need to do it in the colors they chose  !!

I couldn't wait to get started on it and found some time this evening to get a few motifs started.

The colors look so good together.  The middle is called Copper Mist. The next is Frosty Green followed by Cream then the outside round is in Fudge Brown, all Aunt Lydia's Size 10 with a size 5 hook.  I have until May 11th to get it to them and I can't wait to see how it's going to look finished with a border around it this time.  Also yesterday I got a call from Leisure Arts about my crochet book.  They wanted my bio information and a picture.  They said that it is all ready to be printed they just have to send info to stores every so often to see what type of books they are interested in putting on their shelves.  After they get the word what they are looking for then they have everything ready to print it and ship it out they just don't know yet when that will be.

Sun Catchers

Little doilies tied in hoops make pretty sun catchers from inside looking out......

.....and outside looking in !!  The stained glass cross looks like it has a crochet pattern in it, too.
